Fire season begins statewide With the Northwest Oregon district entering fire season early Monday morning, all of the state’s Oregon Department of Forestry districts are now officially in fire season.
Closures, detours coming to OHV areas, roads in Tillamook State Forest Lyda Camp and Jordan Creek OHV Recreation Areas, Beaverdam Road, and Kilchis Forest Road are among a number of closures due to forest operations and bridge construction this summer in the Tillamook State Forest.

Slide on North Fork Gales Creek muddies water in Tualatin River Over the past few weeks, Gales Creek residents have noticed muddy waters in Gales Creek intermittently, even when it wasn't raining. It's believed the likely culprit is a large landslide on North Fork Gales Creek about two miles south of Reehers Camp.
Citing staffing issues, the Tillamook Forest Center will remain 'closed until further notice' The Tillamook Forest Center will not open the first weekend in March this year, extending a closure that first began due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 15, 2020. The Oregon Department of Forestry does not know when the center, now shuttered for almost two years, will reopen to the public.
