Salmonberry Trail Intergovernmental Agency to host annual Salmonberry Coalition meeting on October 3

Tillamook  – The Salmonberry Trail Intergovernmental Agency will host the annual meeting of the Salmonberry Trail Coalition on Tuesday, October 3 in Tillamook. The public meeting runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Officer’s Mess Hall at the Port of Tillamook Bay, located at 6825 Officer’s Row, Tillamook, Oregon 97141.

The Salmonberry Coalition is a stakeholder group composed of private and public partners that formed in 2013 during the initial feasibility study and concept plan of the proposed Salmonberry Trail. The Salmonberry Trail Intergovernmental Agency is a governmental outgrowth of that group, formed in December 2015 to form a framework of government agencies – including the Oregon Department of Forestry, Washington County, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and others – and is the government entity responsible for promoting and leading planning, development and maintenance of the proposed Salmonberry Trail.

This meeting will start with several updates from the past year, including reports on the Tillamook County Brownfields Study, a study that was funded by an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant. Updates on the ‘Coastal segment’ of the trail, and the ‘Valley segment’ – which includes Banks, Manning, and Timber – will follow, with updates on fundraising, marketing, and more rounding out the rest of the three-hour meeting.
